Archangel Michael

His name means, “Who is like God” and is also called The Prince of Light. He is very large and holds sword.  His halo is cobalt blue mixed with purple. You may see sparkles of these colors when he is around. He’s Greatest Warrior Angel of all—the protector and guider of light and love. He helps eradicate fear and infuses people with courage. He will intercede for you instantly particularly when a situation is interfering with your life purpose.

Archangel Michael is also the angel in command of Lightworkers!

Michael will help bring a peaceful end to fights with family member, loved ones, neighbors, agencies or even strangers.

Archangel Michael clears negative energy when asked.  Before you enter a crowded mall or area, ask Archangel Michael to clear the negativity. He can take negatively minded people (both living and deceased) to the Light of God so that their minds can be healed.  Call out to Archangel Michael for his assistance whenever you feel negativity. He can clear negative energy from any space (including your mind and heart)—ask him to clear the energy in your home, office, car, etc. This is especially beneficial after arguments or other negative situations. You can ask him to clear your friends and family as long as you have their permission.

Whenever you feel afraid or uneasy, mentally say, “Archangel Michael, please protect and calm me now.”  If you are in an unsafe place or neighborhood, ask Archangel Michael to be your angelic bodyguard--to escort, guide and protect. In fact, you can ask Michael to be permanently stationed by your side so you’ll always be safe under his powerful protection.  Just mentally say, “Archangel Michael, please be my guardian angel in all directions of time. Thank you.”
And it is so!

Archangel Michael is who you call when you want to remove negativity and fear from your life. Layers of negative attitudes and limiting beliefs can be cleared and released energetically when you receive an angelic soul clearing. Below is a simplified meditation version of the angelic soul clearing with Archangel Michael. I recommend you try it!

***

Performing your own Angelic Soul Clearing with Archangel Michael

Following is a simplified meditation version of the angelic soul clearing with Archangel Michael. Do this meditation if you feel negative and fearful and are ready to release it to the light. The meditation can take from 15 to 30 minutes depending on how thorough you want to be. You may want to read this into a tape recorder and listen to it with headphones on.

Sit comfortably where you will not be disturbed. Begin by grounding and centering yourself. Close your eyes and imagine roots growing from your feet into the core of Mother Earth where they anchor you. Then follow this simple breathing exercise to relax your physical body: breathe in through your nose as deeply as you can, hold it for four seconds and breathe out very slowly, expelling all the air from your lungs.

Tell your Ego-self to move toward your left shoulder.  Let the Ego-self know that it’s only an observer during the clearing and know this is so. Ask your Angels, Guides and all that you desire to accompany you on this quest to clear now. Ask The Creator to send down a beam of protective white light. The Creator hears your request and in your mind’s eye you can immediately envision a beam of light coming down from the universe. Watch it surround you in a
protective glow.

Now you are ready to release. Mentally say, "Archangel Michael please come to me now and take away all negativity and fear from my being." Archangel Michael is instantly by your side ready to clear you of negativity and fear.

Archangel Michael always carries a sword that he can use as a sort of metaphysical "psychic vacuum.”  Imagine it going in through your crown chakra (the top of your head) and begin vacuuming out all the negativity in your brain. Go all around your head, your eyes, ears, nose, mouth, etc. Mentally guide Archangel Michael's sword through your entire body (don’t forget your organs, fingers and toes). This "vacuum" will remove all your fears and negativity taking it to the light where the dark energy will be cleansed and transformed into light. Then go outside your physical body into your aura and vacuum all negativity and darkness.

Notice what you see. If you notice any darkness or shadows, linger there and make sure it’s removed.  These areas may correspond with shoulder, neck or back aches because these are areas where negativity commonly latches on. As you clear the dark spots away, sense whether your guides and angels can relay any messages to you as what the darkness represents in your life. Don't discount any message you receive--pay attention to it. For stubborn negativity or shadow
entities, ask Archangel Michael to throw a net of white light over it and immediately take it to the light. Thoughts of old painful memories may also pop up. That’s a sign that these memories need to be released for healing and clearing. Do your best to release it.

Once you have vacuumed your entire body and your aura (be thorough, check all your organs and extremities) ask Archangel Michael to reverse the sword from a vacuum to an instrument that dispenses white light energy. Use this endless supply of The Creator’s loving, white, sparkly light to fill your entire body and aura. The light is dispensed like toothpaste. Make sure you take as much white light in as possible because nature abhors empty space and negativity and fears and negativity can creep back in. Keep absorbing the white light as long as you can--the more you take in the better. Sense it surround and penetrate your physical and ethereal body. If you're lucky, you'll feel this physically and immediately experience a positive difference in your energy.

Thank Archangel Michael and ask him to protect you from negativity and fears always. Envision a shield of protective white light surrounding you like you're in a giant egg. This shield will assure that only love and positive energy can penetrate. A pink shield of light is also nice as it reflects love both outward and inward, sending love out to everyone you come in contact with as you go about your day.

Ground yourself again by remembering the roots from your feet rooted deep into Mother Earth.

Now open your eyes.

This is powerful energy work you just performed with the angels! You should immediately feel much lighter and more positive afterwards. Most people notice an improvement in their mood and attitude as the days go on. The fog will be lifted and you should have more clarity on how to reach goals and dreams. A few people may feel dizzy or nauseous for a little while. Some people get headaches. This is just getting adjusted to the higher vibrational energy and as you become used to the positive, higher level energy. Some people may not notice a difference at all, changes may be more subtle.

After the clearing, you may feel like crying for the next couple days as you are in a period of releasing old fears and emotions. Cry your heart out and then let it go. Things you have not thought about in years may pop up and upset you and make you cry hard. This is a good thing. You have been carrying these negative feelings around too long and it’s time to let go!

You can do this as often as you like although if you do it too much you may feel weak and lightheaded. A thorough clearing once a week should be great.

If you have any questions, let me know. Email me about your experience performing your own angelic soul clearing.

Protective Shield of Love and Light

Each morning upon wakening ask for Archangel Michael to envelope you in a thick eggshell of white protective light to shield you from negative people and situations you come into contact with (in all situations). This is especially useful for very empathic people who tend to pick up on the emotions of people around them (positive and negative). If you don’t do this each morning at least do this when you are going to a crowded place like a mall, amusement park, etc.

Cutting Etheric Cords of Negativity

Cutting negative etheric cords is important because they can keep us connected to people that drain us.  Some people complain that when they talk to certain people they feel tired and drained afterwards. This is especially true when people we love are constant complainers and those surrounded by drama, chaos and dysfunction, . These people, whom we probably love very much, don’t mean to drain us but do because they are very needy. Besides being diligent to “shield”
yourself before coming into contact with these people, cutting the etheric cords afterwards is essential.

Each night, before bed, say, “Archangel Michael please come to me now. Please cut all negative etheric cords of fear that are sapping my joy, energy and vitality.  Please clear me of all negativity and fill all voids with God’s loving white light. Thank you!”

Our Devotion to Angels

During the past decade, we've witnessed a tremendous resurgence of interest in angels. This interest seems new to many people who are discovering angels for the first time. However, our presentation attention is but the latest part of a long tradition that has sought to preserve a sacred mystery. Angels reveal the path to God.

Special devotion and veneration of the angels have been permitted, even encouraged, in the Christian church since the church's beginnings. Devotional cults are most prominent in Catholicism. Catholic tradition regards angels as conscious beings of high intelligence, not bound by the limitations of physical laws, who can be of help to humanity--but who must not be worshiped or adored, or placed above Christ or God. Devotion to angels centers on imitating them, for they in turn imitate God. Veneration of saints is closely associated with angelic devotion, for saints are considered to be the real friends of angels and models of piety to men and women.

Though angels played an important role in Christian piety from a very early stage, it was not until 325 A.D. that the Council of Nicea made belief in angels a part of dogma. This stimulated theological discussions and writings on angels that have continued to the present.

The early Christian Church looked to St. Paul for setting the standard for veneration of angels. On various occasions, Paul referred to angels within a context of respect and veneration. In 1 Corinthians 11:1-16, for example, Paul discusses proper ways to worship. Women should worship with their heads covered, he says in 11:10, "because of the angels." In this way, they show respect for the divine order, which is administered by angels (also, women are assigned a lower status than men, whose heads are Christ; men should not worship with their heads covered).

Early Church Fathers were sometimes cautious about encouraging veneration of angels. On one hand, angels were convenient substitutes for pagan gods and daimons, a type of intermediary spirit, and thus aided the campaign for conversion. On the other hand, the Fathers did not wish to see worship of pagan gods merely transferred to angels. St. Justin Martyr defended veneration of angels, and the philosopher Celsus declared that angels were different from gods, else they would be called demons.

Origen took pains to distinguish between worship of God and devotion to angels. In his work Contra Celsum, he states: "We indeed acknowledge that Angels are ministering spirits, and we say they are sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation, and that they ascend, bearing the supplications of men, to the purest of the heavenly places in the universe, or even to the supercelestial regions purer still, and they come down from these, conveying to each one, according to his deserts, something enjoined by God to be conferred by them upon those who are to be the recipients of His benefits... For every prayer and supplication and intercession is to be sent up to the Supreme God through the High Priest, who is above all the Angels, the living Word and God... It is enough to secure that the holy Angels be propitious to us, and that they do all things on our behalf, that our disposition of mind toward God should imitate, as far as possible for human nature, the example of these holy Angels, who themselves imitate the example of their God."

St. Augustine was among those who feared that veneration of angels would be confused with worship of pagan gods. "We honor them out of charity not out of servitude," he said primly in De Vera Religione.

Nonetheless, angels found their place in Christian faith, and by the sixth century veneration of them was firmly established. St. Benedict and Pope St. Gregory fostered devotion to angels. Devotion reached a height during the Middle Ages. St. Bernard of Clairvaux was especially ardent about the guardian angel. Citing Psalm 90:11, which states, "God has given his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways," Bernard advocated lavishing great respect, gratitude and love upon angels.

Testimony of the Saints

Devotion to angels was stimulated for centuries by the accounts of the saints, many of whom wrote or spoke of frequent encounters with angels. St. Gemma Galgani (1878-1903) had a rich visionary life, recorded in detail in her diaries and letters. She saw her guardian angel and heard his voice. Her conversations with her angel were observed and recorded by others who could only hear one side of the conversation--hers. Her spiritual director commented that whenever she saw or listened to her angel, she entered into an ecstatic state of consciousness, lost in another world; as soon as she turned her eyes away, she resumed her usual personality.

Gemma's angel was her constant companion, so familiar that she often treated him like a brother. She was once admonished by Father Germano, her spiritual director--who overheard one of her one-way conversations--that she should treat him with more respect. She agreed, and vowed to remain one hundred steps behind the angel whenever she saw him coming.

Sometimes the angel was severe with her in order to keep her on the straight and narrow spiritual path. He would find fault with her, and tell her he was ashamed of her. If she strayed from the path, he would depart from her presence for awhile.

Perhaps the most remarkable trademark of Gemma's angel was his couriership. She would send him off on errands to deliver verbal messages to people in distant places, and return with their replies. Gemma considered this angelic postal service to be a natural thing. Others reportedly received the messages. Sometimes replies were delivered back to her by the guardian angel of Father Germano. When some suggested this was the work of the devil, Father Germano subjected Gemma to various spiritual tests, asking for irrefutable signs, and got them.

One June 8, 1899, when Gemma was twenty-two, she received the stigmata. Her angel helped her climb into bed. Gemma was visited by other angels as well, and often by Father Germano's guardian angel, who, she said, had a brilliant star over his head. No thought or deed of hers ever escaped angelic attention. If she was distracted in prayer, her angel would punish her. If she did not feel well, or if she would not eat enough, the angel exhibited a tender side, inquiring after her welfare and urging her to eat.

Angelic confraternities

Veneration of the angels also led to the establishment of confraternities, legal and approved associations whose purpose is work of piety or charity and the advancement of public worship. The first Archconfraternity of Saint Michael was established in 1878 in Italy (an archconfraternity has the right to affiliate other confraternities). Confraternities were particularly popular during the nineteenth century; they have had renewed interest in the latter twentieth century. In 1950, Philangeli was established in England with Episcopal approval, and has spread worldwide. Members seek to become real friends with angels.

The Opus Sanctorum Angelorum ("The Work of the Holy Angels") is one of the newer Catholic movements intended to renew and bolster belief in guardian angels, and to foster a collaboration between angels and humans for the glory of God, the salvation of humanity, and the regeneration of all creation. The Opus Sanctorum Angelorum was sanctioned by Pope Paul VI in 1968, who probably was influenced by Pope Pius XII, who advocated a renewal of devotion to angels.

The goal of the Opus is a divine marriage between humanity and the angelic kingdom. The Opus teaches that the guardian angel protects against physical and spiritual danger, and evil thoughts; corrects people when they sin; enlightens and instructs; conveys prayers to God; assists in death; and takes souls to heaven or purgatory.

Devotion today

How should we regard angels today? While some people participate in devotional orders as a way of recognizing angels, most of us are more informal. Regardless of how we wish to try to communicate with angels, or what role we believe they play in our lives, it's important to keep in mind that the ultimate purpose of angelic communion is to purify the soul and reach God. If we stay focussed on this idea, our interaction with this vibration of the Godhead will stay on a high plane of consciousness

Archangel Michael

Others Views

by. k. elder

Saint Michael the Archangel, Powerful Spirit of truth, Take my hand and lead me to Divine Truth, Protect me from all the evil in the world, Guard and compensate for all my weaknesses, Change, bless and restore the consequences of all my mistakes, Carry me on the wings of your love and might to the Throne of God and pray to him with me forever.

The Archangel Michael

The belief in the Archangel MIchael, stands forth in many religions. As christianty, catholic, islamic, jewish and so on, as well as he is mentioned also besides in the Bible, the Koran,Talmud, and The Dead Sea Scrolls.  There are also many books on Michael, poems, sites. There are also many who channel Michael, are say they can. Not only to recieve messages for their own well being, but the world, humanity. To better ourselves,to care for the world,to become
close to God, to prepare ourselves for life as well as afterlife. There are many meditations as well as prayers wrote for Michael, asking him for guidence, protection. Im not going to go to much into others views. As i said there is just so much stuff on Michael, so many different views. All that is wrote here i got from different books, so the information varies.

There are many different descriptions of Michael and names for him, or as i mean what people refer to him as. The most common one, is the meaning of his name which is -who is like God-.  There are references also in the bible, through different parts or books that refer to Michael, as well as the Dead Sea Scrolls. An example: MIchaels name fits perfectly with- "The Angel who had Gods name in him"(exo.23:21).  Michael is the one who will rise up for his brethern and appear at the time of trouble at the end of this age with the Book Of Life(Dan 12:1-3) and with the scales weigh our deeds and actions as head of judgement, also he must be the one called son in John 5:22.  The Archangel Michael, is the called the Angel of night in the Koran. Saint Basil called him the "Prince of all Angels".  Saint Thomas Aquinas referred to Michael as the leader of the lowest choir of heavenly spirits. Islamic texts refer to Michael(Mika'il) as a mediator who will "implore the pardon of allah"(God) and seek mercy for sinners. Michael is also called the "leader of the sons of light" and "defender of paridise". As for ideas on how to say his name, in Rudolf stieners book - The Archangel Michael- he points out that every archangels name ends in EL, meaning God, as we pronounce the other ARchangels names with the El at the end, we tend to roll over Michaels EL, so he suggests his name should be pronounced either Mi-ch-a-EL or Micha-EL, or forms of. Ive also read that two secret names for Michael were Sabbathiel and KImos, but these ideas came from a book of someone who considered Him to be her guardian angel. Appearences of Michael are also a very common thing. Whether it is through visualization, or dreams, or sometimes in some stories they say he takes on form. There has also been many accounts where Michael has came to the assistance of those in need. Or helped lead people to healing waters, caves and so on.Some stories include: Gregory the Great invoked Michaels assistance in 390 to end a terrible plague that had been decinating the poopulation. It is said that Michael touched the steeple of the church and the plague was removed. Saint Michael appeared to the Bishop Saint Lawerence, on may 8, 493, to inform him that the ground under a cave on mount gargano(in naples) was consecreated by Angels.  It was found that a liquid substance was dripping from the ceiling, which all who touched it was quickly healed of their maladies.

In Christian religon beliefs as well as many others, Michael is described as judging the souls after they have passed over.  Michael weighs the souls of men and women determing their fates. Then he leads the saved to eternal bliss and the ones whos sins are veniel rather then mortal to purgatory, until the time of final judgement. In this postion Michael is shown holding scales. In the Catholic religon as well as others, Michael is considered a Saint. But each religion idea of him in this postion varies. As in the catholic form he is the patron of policemen. As early as 1950, pope pius XII, declared Michael the offical Saint over all policemen. In eygpt Michael is the patron of the nile and his feast day is celebrated each year on the day the river rises. His feast day on the catholic view is celebrated each year on sept. 29th. Michael is also considered to be the patron saint of germany, brittany, cornwall, papua, new guinea, and of marines and paratroopers. In Islamic Angelology, Michael is the Islamic Angel of food and knowledge. And dwells in the seventh moslem heaven. The book of enoch calls Michael "the merciful, the patient, the holy" and says that he presides over human virtues and commands all nations. Michael is an Angel of repentence, rightousness, mercy and sanctification.

Ideas on Michael through different cultures and religions- Every culture or every orgin, nationality of people, have their own ideas, their own stories of how the world was created and what took place afterwards and so forth. If we compare them all, we can see how closely related, at least the stories of creation, the wars that took place after and so on are to each other. Maybe they have given the Archangels, angels different names or postions or made them into gods or heros, but they only differ in comparison vaguely. There are many stories, ideas that compare to the christian, jewish and catholic ideas of Michael. AS there are also stories of heros and so on that take on Michaels form or compare to him. There are so many, that its hard to write them all, but here are a few, as also references to where you can learn more, if you so choose.

Sumerian/Babylonian- The story of how the god marduk conquered the dragon tiamet. Taken from the Emuna Elish. In this story, marduk is described as having four eyes and four ears so he could see and here everything. In my research on religion, i have found that some described MIchael as having many eyes and so forth, so he could see
everything. The refrences to cheak on this would be anthing on sumerian or babyloian myths and history.

Ancient India- Taken from the Rig Veda. Indra defeats the dragon Vritra. Indra is described as carring a thunderbolt as a weapon. Which he used to destroy demons and also to bring down he dragon, to release the seven rivers that make the earth fertile. Here and also the story above, gives us the example of Michael defeating satan. Though the reasons in both of these stories are different. Also see hindu myths, the rig veda and ramayana for references.

Ancient Eygpt- Osiris, the eygptian god of the underworld.  He weighs the souls(or hearts) of the dead, those whose  hearts weigh less then a feather, are considered as pure or as having done great deeds in life. And they are resurected to spend eternity in the kingdom, as if on earth. Those with heavier hearts are to stay dead and not seek or recieve resurrection in the kingdom. Osiris's brother set represents darkness in eygptian mythology. Here we have the Christian and Jewish idea of Michael weighing the souls after they've passed over. See Eygptian book of the dead or Eygptian myths for further references.

Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A Powerful Prayer Against Evil
(make the Sign of the Cross when you see the + symbol)

Most glorious Prince of the Heavenly Armies, St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in "our battle against principalities and powers, against the rulers
of this world of darkness, against the spirits of wickedness in the high places". Come to the assistance of men whom God has created to His likeness and whom He has redeemed at a great price from the tyranny of the devil. Holy Church venerates thee as her guardian and protector; to thee, the Lord has entrusted the souls of the redeemed
to be led into heaven. Pray therefore the God of Peace to crush Satan beneath our feet, that he may no longer retain men captive and do injury to the Church. Offer
our prayers to the Most High, that without delay they may draw His mercy down upon us; take hold of "the dragon, the old serpent, which is the devil and Satan.' bind him
and cast him into the bottomless pit " so that he may no longer seduce the nations."

EXORCISM

In the name of Jesus Christ, our God and Lord, strengthened by the intercession of the Immaculate Virgin Mary, Mother of God, of Blessed Michael the
Archangel, of the Blessed Apostles Peter and Paul and all the Saints, we confidently undertake to repulse the attacks and deceits of the devil.

Psalm 67: God arises; His enemies are scattered and those who hate Him flee before Him.
As smoke is driven away, so are they driven; as wax melts before the fire, so the wicked perish at the presence of God.

Behold the Cross of the Lord, flee bands of enemies.
He has conquered, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the offspring of David.
May thy mercy, Lord, descend upon us. as great as our hope in Thee.

We drive you from us, whoever you may be, unclean spirits, all satanic powers, all infernal invaders, all wicked legions, assemblies and sects; in the name and by the power of Our Lord Jesus Christ + may you be snatched away and driven from the Church of God and from the souls made to the image and likeness of God and redeemed by the Precious Blood of the Divine Lamb. +
Most cunning serpent, you shall no more dare to deceive the human race, persecute the Church, torment God's elect and sift them as wheat. +

The Most High God commands you, + He with whom, in your great insolence, you still claim to be equal; "He who wants all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth".
God the Father commands you. + God the Holy Ghost commands you. +  Christ, God's word made flesh, commands you +

He who came down from heaven to save our race out done hrough your envy, "humbled Himself, becoming obedient even unto death". He who has built His Church on the
firm rock and declared that the gates of hell shall not prevail against Her, because He will dwell with Her "all days even to the end of the world" The sacred Sign of the Cross commands you, + as does also the power of the mysteries of the Christian Faith. +

The Glorious Mother of God, the Virgin Mary, commands you; + She who by her humility and from the first moment of her Immaculate Conception, crushed your proud head.

The Faith of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul and of the other Apostles commands you. +

The blood of the Martyrs and the pious intercession of all the saints command you. +

Thus, cursed dragon, and you, diabolical legions, we adjure you by the living God, + by the true God, + by the holy God, + by the God, Who so loved the world that He gave up His only son, that every soul believing in Him might not perish, but have life everlasting"; stop deceiving human creatures and pouring out to them the poison of
eternal damnation; stop harming the Church and hindering her liberty.

Begone, Satan. inventor and master of all deceit, enemy of man's salvation. Give place to Christ in Whom you have found none of your works; give place to the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church acquitted be Christ at the price of His Blood. Stoop beneath the all-powerful Hand of God; tremble and flee when we invoke the Holy and terrible Name of Jesus, this Name which caused hell to tremble, this Name to which the Virtues, Powers and Dominations of heaven are humble submissives, this Name which the Cherubim and Seraphim praise unceasingly repeating; "Holy, Holy, Holy, is the Lord, the God of Armies."

V. O Lord, hear my prayer
R/. And let my cry come unto Thee
V. May the Lord be with thee
R/. And with thy spirit.

Let us pray: God of heaven, God of earth, God of Angels, God of Archangels, God of Patriarchs, God of prophets, God of Apostles, God of Martyrs, God of Confessors, God of Virgins, God who has power to give life after death and rest after work, because there is no other God than Thee and there can be no other, for Thou art the Creator of all things, visible and invisible, of whose reign there shall be no end, we humbly prostrate ourselves before Thy glorious Majesty and we beseech thee to deliver us by Thy power from all the tyranny of the infernal spirits, from their snares, their lies and their furious wickedness; deign, O lord, to grant us thy powerful protection and to keep us safe and sound. We beseech Thee through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

From the snares of the devil, deliver us, O Lord.

That Thy Church may serve Thee in peace and liberty, we beseech Thee to hear us.

That Thou may crush down all enemies of Thy Church, we beseech Thee to hear us.

St Michael, the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do thou,
O Prince of the Heavenly Hosts, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan and all his evil spirits that roam about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

Holy Guardian Angels (Feast, October 2)

Dear Angel at my side, my good and loyal friend, you have been with me since the moment I was born. You are my own personal guardian, given me by God as my guide and protector, and you will stay with me till I die. He who created you and me gave me to you as your particular charge. You assisted in great joy at my baptism, when I became part of the Mystical Body of Christ, and was made a member of the household of God and an heir of heaven. You saw the dangers that beset my path, and, if I sinned, it was in spite of you. You envied me when Christ came to me in Holy Communion. Even though you probably were there among the angels that adored Him the night that He was born, you have not been able to receive Him as I can. O, help me to appreciate these gifts! Help me to realize, as you do, with every fiber of my being, that to serve Christ is to be a King! Help me steadfastly to avoid evil and do good and always guard my soul from sin. Protect me as well from physical evils as I go about my daily work. You will be with me all my life, and at the hour of my death. Help me to face death bravely, patiently, with great love of God, knowing that it is only through death that I can come to Him in heaven! Then, come with me to my Judge, and when the hour of my salvation comes, take me home to my Father, God. Amen.

St. Gertrude's Guardian Angel Prayer

O most holy angel of God, appointed by God to be my guardian, I give you thanks for all the benefits which you have ever bestowed on me in body and in soul. I praise and glorify you that you condescended to assist me with such patient fidelity, and to defend me against all the assaults of my enemies. Blessed be the hour in which you were assigned me for my guardian, my defender and my patron. In acknowledgement and return for all your loving ministries to me, I offer you the infinitely precious and noble heart of Jesus, and firmly purpose to obey you henceforward, and most faithfully to serve my God. Amen.

Thanks to My Guardian Angel

O Angel of God, my blessed protector, to whose care I have been committed by my Creator from the moment of my birth, unite with me in thanking the Almighty for having given me a friend, and instructor, an advocate, and a guardian in thee. Accept, O most charitable guide, my fervent thanksgiving for all thou hast done for me; particularly for the charity with which thou didst undertake to accompany me through life; for the joy with which thou wert filled when I was purified in the waters of Baptism; and for thy anxious solicitude in watching over the treasure of my innocence.

Thou knowest the numberless graces and favors which my Creator has bestowed on me through thee, and the many dangers, both spiritual and temporal from which thou hast preserved me. Thou knowest how often thou didst deplore my sins, animate me to repentance, and intercede with God for my pardon. Ah! why have I so little merited a continuance of thy zealous efforts for my salvation? Why have I so often stained my soul by sin, and thereby rendered myself unworthy of the presence and protection of an angel, of so pure a spirit as thou art, who never sinned? But as my ingratitude and thoughtlessness have not lessened thy charitable interest for my salvation, so neither shall they diminish my confidence in thy goodness, nor prevent me from abandoning myself to thy care, since God Himself has entrusted thee with the charge of my soul. Penetrated with sorrow for the little progress I have made in virtue, though blessed with such a Master, and sincerely determined to correspond in future with thy exertions for my salvation, I most earnestly entreat thee, O protecting spirit, to continue thy zealous efforts for my eternal interest; to fortify my weakness, to shield me from innumerable dangers of the world and to obtain by thy powerful prayers that my life may rather be shortened, than that I should live to commit a mortal sin.

Remember, O most happy spirit, that it was one act of profound humility, and one transport of ardent love for thy Creator, that caused God to establish thee forever in glory; obtain that those virtues may be implanted in my soul, and that I may seriously endeavor to acquire docility, obedience, gentleness and purity of heart. Conduct me safely through this world of sin and misery; watch over me at the awful hour of my death; perform for my soul the last charitable office of thy mission, by strengthening, encouraging, and supporting me in the agonies of dissolution, and then, as the angel Raphael conducted Tobias safely to his father, do thou, my good angel and blessed guide, return with me to Him who sent thee, that we may mutually bless Him, and publish His wonderful works for a happy eternity. Amen.
